Growers cooperation FresQ u.a.

Growers cooperative FresQ is the 2nd largest growers’ association in The Netherlands. With 79 members, FresQ represents more then 750 hectares and a wide range of greenhouse vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers, aubergines, chillies and cucumbers, with tomatoes and peppers representing the main product categories. With a progressive approach content is given to production, packaging and sales of the products. Direction throughout the chain and shortening of the chain leads to delivery of high quality products, following the demands of the customer. The aim of FresQ growers is to create an optimum market position for her members through intensive cooperation and sustainable and market-oriented production. The organisation was founded in 2001 and was formed by a number of growers’ groups who sought to reinforce one another by joining forces. Together, the members of FresQ achieved an annual turnover of € 407 million in 2009.

Organisation structure

FresQ holds office in De Lier and has eight Operating Sales companies. FresQ is a cooperative association that carries out tasks for her members and Operating Sales companies, such as acting as representatives, (financial) administration, IT, sales and marketing, quality, food-safety and several (subsidy) projects. The sale of the products of the members is directed by FresQ, through the Operating Sales companies FresQ is able to meet de demands of the various marketsegments and target sectors in the most optimal way.

One of the Operating Sales companies of FresQ is FresQ Rainbow Growers Group, who takes care of the sales of the fresh produce of all member of Rainbow Growers Group.
